MEET OUR ADMINISTRATOR, MELISSA MORALES

Welcome to The Courtyard at Little Chico Creek,

It has been my privilege to work at The Courtyard since November of 2012. As someone who has worked in many positions within the organization before stepping into the Administrator role in 2018, I have a unique perspective on what it takes to make sure that your loved one and entire family is cared for and supported as you all take the step into assisted living.

Every family is unique and every resident brings different needs and experiences with them to The Courtyard. We are honored to be able to journey with you and serve your family. Each resident will be treated with kindness, dignity and warmth because of our dedicated and well-trained staff who are committed to our residents and our families.

Meet Our Team

Brandy Amaral, Assistant Administrator

Brandy joined our team in 2018 and is the Assistant Administrator. She came to The Courtyard with 19 years of private and facility-based caregiving experience. She holds an Associate degree in Administration of Justice and Social Behavioral Science. Brandy has served in many different positions at The Courtyard, giving her a well-rounded understanding of how The Courtyard runs. Brandy is responsible for overseeing the front desk, as well as the day-to-day accounting and billing. Her knowledge and organizational skills help her with handling any task placed in front of her and achieving her goals: to give each resident, their loved ones and whoever walks through the front doors a high standard of service and to meet their needs.

Nick

Nick Sherman, Food Service Manager

Nick joined the Courtyard at Little Chico Creek in 2018 and is the Food Service Manager. Prior to joining The Courtyard at Little Chico Creek, Nick spent ten years working with hospice, the elderly and adults with disabilities. He sees food service as an extension of caregiving and strives to provide delicious and nourishing meals to residents of The Courtyard at Little Chico Creek. As Food Service Manager, he oversees all operations of the kitchen and the team of amazing cooks and dining attendants.

Michelle Sans-Cartier, Resident Care Coordinator

Michelle joined the team at The Courtyard in 2018 and brings a kind, loving, and compassionate heart to her work. Michelle has served in many different positions from resident assistant, medication technician, lead medication technician, and is now our Resident Care Coordinator. She oversees all the needs of our residents at The Courtyard. She works close with our residents, their families, doctors, pharmacies and outside health care companies.

Brandi Palade, Activities Director

Brandi joined the Hignell Companies in 2019 as a Resident Assistant at The Courtyard. She brought with her 8 years as a Resident Care Assistant. In February 2020 Brandi took over the role of Activities Director. In her role she oversees all of the activities we offer to ensure our residents here at The Courtyard have exciting experiences in life and continue to do what they love day to day. The best part about Brandi’s role as Activities Director is seeing the residents engaged, seeing their smiles and knowing she has a vital part in helping each day be enjoyable for them.
